Rangely Splash-In/Fly-In

The Town of Rangely is celebrating Septemberfest on the first weekend of September.  As part of Septemberfest, a fly-in and splash-in will be held at the Rangely Airport (4V0) and Kenney Reservoir on September 5th.

According to some, Rangely is one of those places where you have to create your fun, which is what folks had in mind when they came up with Septemberfest. This is one jam packed, fun filled, family oriented event.

The annual Labor Day event kicks off with a 5k walk/run which is an easy out and back trail making it do-able for all ages and fitness levels. The day continues on to be spent in our newly renovated Elks Park, where you will find numerous events. The evening ends with the annual Rock ‘N’ Bull rodeo, which has become a highlight of Septemberfest and is enjoyed by all ages.

There are several contests to be entered during the weekend such as an ice cream social, chili cook-off, cribbage and whiffle ball tournaments. Even if being in the competition doesn’t suit your fancy, judging or merely spectating is always encouraged.

The Firemen put on an amazing pancake breakfast to start the Labor Day off right, followed by the parade that, of course, is a huge hit with the kids. Elks Park is then the happening place to be, with a community picnic, vendors surrounding the park selling various items, the car show that is filled with a wide variety of cars to appeal to all types, and much more!

SEAPLANERS!
If you attend the splash-in, you must land at the Rangely Airport (4V0) for an invasive species inspection prior to landing on the water.
