The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (RMMA) needs your help. Local anti-airport noise and environmental groups are organizing against RMMA to enact changes that could impact operations at KBJC. These groups are concerned about noise and emissions from General Aviation (GA) aircraft and are demanding changes. You can learn more about the issues by clicking here. <br /><br />Make Your Voice Heard!<br /><br />The airport has established the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Community Noise Roundtable to discuss these concerns and identify solutions – and they need your voice to be heard! Join me in showing your support for GA and the RMMA community by clicking here on Monday, September 13 at 9:00 AM MST. Please note that if you would like to speak during the public comment period (details below), we’d recommend joining by 8:50 AM MST to register as public comment is only taken for a maximum of 30 minutes at 3 minutes per speaker. <br /><br />We need GA advocates to show their support for the airport! Sign up to speak at the meeting by joining the virtual WebEx meeting early and using the chat function to identify your name and your desire to provide public comment. The moderator will call on you during the comment period to provide up to a 3-minute statement. <br /><br />Talking Points<br /><br />Let the Roundtable members know that you are an AOPA member and a GA pilot that resides in the surrounding community<br /><br />Express what the RMMA means to you – do you use the airport for business? Are you a flight student pursuing a new career? Do you work for one of the numerous businesses that are based at RMMA? Your stories are essential in emphasizing the business and economic significance of the airport to the community<br />Mention that you are aware of the voluntary noise abatement procedures at RMMA and always take steps to “fly friendly” when able, and encourage other pilots to do the same
