We are looking for 8 pilots and about 15 ground volunteers.<br /> <br />Just a heads up…. 17R / 35L will be closed for about 6 weeks starting in September. I have been talking with Ron Curry the Tower manager and he told me that he is going to let me know if YE will put too much strain Airport / Tower Operations.<br /><br />Here is what Ron sent out today, “For some time now, APA Tower has been short-staffed. We have been using a lot of overtime, with controllers working 6-day weeks. Tonight, 8/31/2022, we are particularly understaffed and unable to force even more overtime onto the controllers. So, from 5pm to 10pm tonight, services will be curtailed. Do not expect to be able to do touch-and-goes or practice approaches at APA during that time. We regret the inconvenience for students and instructors. Hopefully, APA will be fully staffed again soon.” – Ron Curry KAPA Tower<br /> <br />I am still planning on having the rally so to that point please let me know if you are able to volunteer either as a pilot or ground support. When we get closer I will let you know the status of the September Rally.<br /> <br />Here is the usual info;<br /> <br />Pilots –<br />Please make sure you have supplies to disinfect the head sets or whatever you want to disinfect. <br />Time line:<br />0730 – please have your planes parked. If you are not familiar with KAPA then please ask Centennial Ground for a progressive over to the Wings Over the Rockies Museum.<br />0745 – we will have a safety meeting with tower personnel, and Centennial Operations, Check in with Micaela Thomas with your Tail number and EAA number.<br />0800 – We will start flying Young Eagles<br />1100-1130 – we will be done flying<br /> <br />Ground crew –<br />Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.<br />Time line:<br />0715 – please be at the EOF<br />0720 – ramp safety meeting / assignments<br />0800 – working the rally
