The November 1991 issue of Flight Lines announces the election of new Colorado Pilots Association officers for the 1992 fiscal year at the Annual Meeting held October 19. Newly elected President Bill Standerfer of Fort Collins, an engineering professional at Hewlett-Packard and experienced pilot, outlines his vision for CPA’s continued growth and influence in Colorado aviation. Standerfer emphasizes the organization’s role as a respected voice in the aviation community and highlights the importance of aviation safety education, membership development, and community engagement through flying events and programs.

In his President’s Message, Standerfer notes that CPA, with approximately 450 members, has successfully influenced local airspace matters including the new TCA design for the expanded Denver airport. He credits the Mountain Flying Course—originally developed by Vern Foster—as a successful safety initiative now being offered outside Colorado. The new president also champions the Education Committee’s Student Airlift program for introducing young people to aviation careers and encourages all members to participate in at least one CPA activity during the coming year.
