TheEliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiativeis a joint federal government/industry initiative to transition the general aviation industry to a safe, fleet-wide unleaded avgas.Specifically:
"EAGLE is a comprehensive government-industry initiative consisting of the aviation and petroleum industries and U.S. government stakeholders, and a wide range of other constituents and interested parties, all working toward the transition to lead-free aviation fuels for piston-engine aircraft by the end of 2030 without compromising the safety or economic health of the general aviation industry."
Last week, EAGLE published part two of three documents outlining how candidate unleaded aviation fuels receive the requisite approvals.Part 1 of this series is on the EAGLE website here, along with several other updates on their progress, current news, and other issues. You can review Part 2 of this update here.
The EAGLE website is the best source for objective and up-to-date information on the unleaded avgas transition, and we have previously shared their website and information with airports and other stakeholders. We will continue to remind all of you of this effort and share EAGLE’s latest updates as we receive them. Please help us in this endeavor by sharing this information with your communities, airport tenants and users, and elected officials. |
