Hello everyone! Here is your update for April of 2025.
- Colorado 5 Meeting - On March 6th, 2025, Longmont participated in the quarterly meeting for the top 5 general aviation airports in Colorado. (As identified by the Colorado Department of Transportation) Representatives from multiple front range airports met to discuss various issues. Safety and noise issues were the main focus.
- Airport Landing Fees - The City Council has given direction for staff to look into options for landing fees, but no decisions have been made at this time. Our commitment is that we will keep you informed on the process, and bring any proposals to you in order to seek out your opinion (and Airport Advisory Board members opinion) before the City Council makes those decisions. Please keep an eye out for Airport communications from me that offer these opportunities.
- Airport Advisory Board Meeting - AAB meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. Meetings start at 6pm in the City Council Chambers. You can find the agenda and other information for this meeting at the link: Agenda Management Portal | City of Longmont, Colorado (longmontcolorado.gov) Under Current and Upcoming Meetings select Airport Advisory Board. We strongly encourage all those with an interest in airport maters to attend these meetings. We greatly appreciate the input of those who participate.
- Voluntary Noise Abatement - To all of our pilots: Please review the airport's Voluntary Noise Abatement Procedures and do your best to minimize impacts to the surrounding communities. We here at the airport appreciate any efforts you can make to reduce the noise impacts of aircraft operations.
