KCFO Extends Tower Hours to 7 PM, Seven Days a Week
Published on 8/20/2026
Good news out of KCFO: starting Saturday, August 15, the Colorado Air and Space Port (CASP) control tower will be staffed every day of the week, including Saturdays and Sundays, until 7:00 PM.
The extended hours mark a step forward as CASP works through the FAA's ongoing air traffic controller staffing shortage, which has forced reduced tower coverage at towered fields across the country this year. Weekend coverage at KCFO has been inconsistent in recent months, so pilots operating in and out of the field should welcome the return to daily service through early evening.
CASP Operations thanked tenants and pilots for their patience during the staffing disruption and said further schedule updates will be shared as they become available. Until then, pilots flying into KCFO on weekends can plan on tower service through 7 PM local.
As always, check NOTAMs before you fly. Staffing-driven hour changes can shift on short notice, and a tower that's open today may revert to part-time or CTAF operations if controller availability changes again.
