About this event
This month's meeting is a hanger tour with Craig Nelson and his Stearman!
The airplane is a 1942 P13 D model used as most were as a primary trainer during WW11. It was sold after the war as surplus for $450. and was a duster for 25 yrs. eventually abandoned. Salvaged and rebuilt around 1987by Air Repair a company that specializes in rebuilding and restoring Stearmans. It now authentically represents a US Navy N2S3 as it would have appeared in December 1941. After a few previous owners I acquired the aircraft in 2006. I started working at the Pueblo Memorial Airport when I was 15 fueling airplanes. Best job I ever had. Solo’d at 16 got my license at 17. Acquired commercial, instrument and multi and flew charter and as a corporate pilot. Went on to another career when I was 25 and did not get back into flying until 2006.
