Justin Anderson, founder of Runway Stats, currently lives in Breckenridge, CO.

I currently live in Breckenridge with my wife and son. I was born in Montrose and moved frequently with my dad’s flying jobs before settling at an airpark in South Florida. After flight instructing at Embry Riddle University, I flew a range of aircraft including Beechcraft Barons, Cessna 402s, Learjets, and Gulfstreams. In 2006, I was hired by Japan Airlines, where I met my wife during Boeing 747 training in Denver. After being furloughed in 2009, I flew briefly in the Middle East before joining Virgin America, which eventually merged with Alaska Airlines. I’m now a Boeing 737 Captain, based in San Francisco.

I had the incredible opportunity to grow up living on an airpark and flying my family’s Christen Eagle. Throughout my life, I have always made aviation a priority. I competed in aerobatics, have owned and rebuilt three airplanes, and continue to flight instruct when I can.

Our family spends much of our summers flying and camping in our 2009 Murphy Moose. We enjoy exploring Colorado and have plans to take the Moose to Alaska. I hope to someday get a helicopter rating, and in a few years will start glider training with my son when he turns 14.

My wife and I run a small t-hangar rental business in Kremmling, and I am a member of the Grand County Airport Advisory Committee, where the idea of RunwayStats was born. Recently, the Colorado DOT emphasized that future project requests should be justified with data. Runway Stats provides the essential data airports need to enhance their funding opportunities, improve safety, and manage noise impacts on surrounding communities. After collecting data for Kremmling for 3 years and continually refining the software, we officially launched the Runway Stats system earlier this year.
