The history and mission of Pilots N Paws.
Susan Delgado has been flying for close to 33 years and has been volunteering as a pilot for Pilots n Paws (PNP) since 2009. Pilots n Paws is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that supports volunteer pilots with the goal of making transport available for all rescued animals that have homes waiting for them – no matter where those homes are. Susan owns and flies a Beechcraft Bonanza currently based at SJC since 2017 and can be found traveling up and down the west coast at least once a month. Prior to 2017, she flew missions across the Southeast covering airspace from VA to AR to FL delivering close to 700 dogs to places where they can get adopted and find new homes. She has organized and participated in multiple PNP fly outs where a group of pilots meet in one location and we attempt to empty a shelter and move all the dogs on one day. Susan is currently serving on the American Bonanza Society Board of Directors as President and is a member of the 99s, WIA, AOPA, and EAA. Susan will share how PNP got started, how rescues and pilots connect, and her overall experience with transporting animals.
