KBJC - Runway 3-21 Public Hearing

The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners is holding a public hearing on the potential decommissioning of Runway 3-21. The public hearing will take place on June 13 at 8:00am in Hearing Room One in the Courts and Administration Building located at 100 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden.

This recommendation comes at the conclusion of the Runway 3-21 Feasibility Study, undertaken by airport engineering firm Jviation. After reviewing the existing planning, maintenance, and funding contexts, the study considered a number of alternatives to address the runway's rapidly deteriorating pavement condition. A draft of the study was presented to the Jeffco Airport Advisory Board in April of 2023 and is now presented to the Jeffco BCC for their consideration.
