November 1989 Flight Lines covers the Colorado Pilots Association's recent leadership transition and organizational direction. New officers were elected at the October 21 Annual Meeting: President Vanita Gallo, Vice President Mark Meyer, Secretary Tony Miller, and Treasurer Don Vander Ploeg. President Gallo emphasizes CPA's mission to serve all general aviation pilots regardless of airport affiliation, aircraft type, or background, and calls for increased membership participation. The association currently numbers around 300 members and is seeking volunteers across multiple committees.

Significant board discussions addressed the sustainability of the Flight Lines newsletter, with costs requiring an increased monthly contribution to the printer. Rather than raise membership dues, the board approved making FLYING REVIEW an optional benefit effective January 1, 1990. Additionally, Chris Wiant presented research on mountain-related aviation accidents and proposed establishing a network of CFIs to provide instruction to transient pilots on mountain flying techniques.
