How to use this for flight planning: Mountain pass webcams show real-time visibility and cloud bases β if you can't see through the pass on camera, you probably shouldn't try to fly through it. Compare with winds aloft at 12,000' to assess turbulence potential. Passes with winds above 30 knots at ridge level will likely produce moderate to severe mountain wave turbulence. Camera images auto-refresh on page load.
Camera sources: FAA WeatherCams (operated by CDOT Aeronautics) and COtrip.org. FAA cameras are positioned at or near pass summits with multiple viewing directions (N, S, E, W). Passes with an FAA station code have dedicated summit cameras.
