How Long Does It Take to Get the CFII?

# CPA News Brief

New CFIs seeking to improve employment prospects should consider obtaining their CFII rating, as Colorado flight schools increasingly prefer instructors with this qualification. The CFII is the easiest instructor rating to obtain since it builds directly on an existing CFI certificate, requiring instructor-level knowledge of IFR systems and weather along with the ability to teach instrument approaches. Completing the CFII involves passing the Flight Instructor Instrument knowledge test and check ride, leveraging skills already mastered during instrument rating training.
