The August 2003 issue of Flight Lines highlights CPA’s efforts to strengthen the organization through membership growth and improved web services. President Eric Jensen emphasizes the need to recruit new members to expand the organization’s influence as Colorado’s statewide general aviation voice, currently hovering around 700 members. The newsletter also features important safety reminders regarding Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) during fire season, with guidance on reporting fires and coordinating with aerial firefighting operations in mountainous terrain.

A significant portion of the newsletter celebrates the arrival of historic WWII aircraft to Colorado, including the B-17 “Sentimental Journey” and a German Heinkel He-111 bomber, offering a unique opportunity to compare American and German aviation engineering. The issue also includes a personal note of gratitude from member Vern Foster and announces the rescheduled Lincoln Fly-in trip with special exhibitions.
