Flight Lines February 2019 introduces new leadership and excitement for the Colorado Pilots Association’s flying season. Laurie Garrett has taken over as newsletter editor, bringing fresh energy to the publication. The organization is also undergoing a website redesign to better serve members with new tools and resources. Meanwhile, the CPA is celebrating the decades of service from Walt and Terry Barbo, who have guided the organization for 40 years, while welcoming new leadership to ensure the association remains vibrant and relevant.

The newsletter highlights a robust 2019 fly-in schedule with eight association-hosted trips planned over six months, featuring destinations across the Southwest and beyond. From hot springs in Wyoming to national monuments in Arizona, the fly-ins promise opportunities for members to build flight hours while exploring some of America’s most scenic locations. The organization is seeing increased participation from younger members, creating an energetic mix of experienced and new pilots.

Recognition is given to members who represented CPA at the Denver Boat Show, where unexpected interest from seaplane-rated pilots resulted in new memberships. The organization continues its mission to promote aviation safety, protect pilot rights, and demonstrate the value of Colorado’s airports to their communities.
