Mountain Flying Ground School

Mountain flying in Colorado requires specialized knowledge and skills beyond standard pilot training. High density altitudes, rapidly changing weather, turbulence, and limited emergency landing options make proper preparation essential.

CPA offers a Mountain Flying Ground School covering density altitude management, mountain weather patterns, pass crossing techniques, emergency procedures, and route planning. Completing this course is strongly recommended before flying Colorado's mountain passes.
