KBDU Boulder Municipal Airport Stays Open

Ballot measures to close the airport were withdrawn in August 2024. A federal court dismissed the city's lawsuit over its FAA obligations on September 15, 2025, and the city let the November 14, 2025 appeal deadline pass. On July 23, 2026, City Council voted 8-1 to keep the airport open indefinitely and to seek federal and state funding for it.

SB26-042 Aviation Fuel Tax Money and the State Revenue Limit

SB26-042 treats the aviation fuel tax money that the state aviation fund passes to airports as outside the state revenue limit (TABOR). Signed into law May 29, 2026.

SB26-024 State and Local Drone Regulation

SB26-024 would have changed how the state and local governments regulate drones. The Senate Local Government and Housing Committee postponed it indefinitely on February 25, 2026, ending it for the session.
