Beyond the field
Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site — nps.gov/beol. Fifteen minutes from the airport by car, so the courtesy car makes it comfortably. Guided tours run to a published schedule; check the site before you go. Allow about an hour inside the fort if you catch a tour. Optional trails run through a cottonwood grove by the Arkansas River — about 1.25 miles on gravel.
